Jalandhar, October 30 – In a unique initiative to connect citizens with their roots, the Jalandhar District Administration has set up ‘Saada Pind’ at the Surjeet Hockey Stadium in Burlton Park during the ongoing Asian Hockey Champions Trophy. Designed to offer visitors a vivid glimpse into Punjab’s rich rural heritage, this cultural enclosure has quickly emerged as a major center of attraction.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Amaninder Kaur Brar today visited ‘Saada Pind’ wherein she interacted with the visitors. She noted that the setup authentically showcases traditional Punjabi life, mesmerising attendees with its immersive rural household setting. The display features iconic elements of village life, including hand-woven desi manjas, intricate embroidery, traditional wheat storage structures, a heritage water well, vibrant wall art, and a dedicated hockey glory wall.
Highlighting the vision behind the effort, the ADC stated that the village serves as a vital bridge for the youth, particularly the urban population, to reconnect with their proud cultural legacy. She shared that hundreds of people, including school and college students, are visiting daily to experience Punjab’s authentic roots.
Emphasising the deep connection between regional heritage and sports, she remarked that just as hockey is deeply embedded in Punjabi culture, this portrayal of a typical village during a international sporting event has added a distinct, memorable flavor to the championship.
